Islamabad: Allied Bank and the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) have formed a partnership to propel innovation in blockchain technology within Pakistan’s financial sector. The institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on research, pilot projects, and talent development in the field of digital assets.
The agreement aims to explore practical applications of blockchain and create specialized training programs. The collaboration seeks to connect academic research with real-world industry needs, fostering growth in Pakistan’s digital economy.
Senior executives from both organizations attended the signing ceremony. Allied Bank was represented by Mr. Mujahid Ali, Chief Technology and Digital Transformation Officer; Mr. Mohsin Mithani, Chief Digital Officer; and Mr. Muhammad Zaman, Group Head of Digital Transformation and Innovation. LUMS representatives included Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Provost; Dr. Zartash Afzal Uzmi, Principal Investigator; Dr. Basit Shafia, Co-Principal Investigator; and Mr. Ali Khawaja, Director.
