Karachi: The Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Muhammad Aman Pracha, has emphasized the need to restore the confidence of both local and foreign investors and industrialists. He highlighted that necessary steps must be taken to stabilize the national economy by addressing the issues faced by exporters.
According to Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Aman Pracha stated that Pakistan is currently grappling with many problems and that the current government alone will not be able to pull the country out of its difficulties. He urged all segments of society to unite and work together to find solutions. Speaking with a delegation of traders, Pracha stressed the importance of collaboration among politicians, intellectuals, businessmen, industrialists, and bureaucrats to overcome the nation’s crisis.
Pracha pointed out that globally, investors are being attracted through incentives, and Pakistan must develop similar policies to promote domestic investment. He advocated for bringing back capital that has moved abroad through mutual consultation and addressing investor concerns, suggesting that the government should involve FPCCI’s leadership in this process.
He acknowledged the government’s claim of reduced inflation but noted that over 40% of the population still lives below the poverty line. Pracha emphasized the need to address unemployment and restore investor confidence, urging institutions to engage with investors to resolve concerns and encourage new investments, which would help reduce unemployment and provide better job opportunities for the youth.
Additionally, Pracha mentioned the need to minimize the role of agencies to make business operations easier and highlighted how high tax rates and increasing tariffs on utilities have adversely affected businesses. He called for improvements in Karachi’s infrastructure, enhancements in law and order, and better control over street crimes by law enforcement agencies.
Furthermore, he stressed the importance of preserving taxpayers’ dignity and providing them with necessary incentives to conduct their businesses in a more favorable environment.
