Ambassador of Republic of Bulgaria to Pakistan visits Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry to interact with business community, based in Sialkot

Sialkot, February 24, 2020 (PPI-OT):On 22nd February 2020, Ambassador of Republic of Bulgaria to Pakistan, H.E. Aleksander Borisov Parashkevov visited the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry to interact with the business community, based in Sialkot.

President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Muhammad Ashraf Malik, welcomed the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Pakistan, to Sialkot and while addressing the meeting he said that Pakistan had been enjoying friendly ties with Bulgaria, and Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was keen to increase the bilateral and economic relations with Bulgaria. He also acknowledged the role of the Republic of Bulgaria, in getting GSP Plus status to Pakistan, from European Union.

President SCCI, also added that in Europe the Republic of Bulgaria was an important trading partner of Pakistan, due to the demand for products of the Sialkot Industry, and its locality within the European region. He mentioned that the bilateral trade between Pakistan and Bulgaria during the financial year 2018-2019 was 34.78 Million USD, and efforts from both sides should be made to engage Business to Business interactions, holding of single country exhibitions, welcoming Foreign Direct Investments in Special Economic Zones of Pakistan, signing of MOUs between Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Pakistan and Bulgaria, to enhance the trade volume.

Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Pakistan, H.E. Aleksander Borisov Parashkevov, appreciated the role of the Sialkot Industry, in building the economy of Pakistan. H.E while addressing the members of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry highlighted key areas of investments in Bulgaria like Education, Tourism and Surgical Industry. H.E further highlighted that Bulgaria could be one of the important platforms for establishing warehouses in the Republic of Bulgaria.

Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Pakistan also invited a Trade Delegation under the umbrella of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry to visit Bulgaria, and explore the investment and business opportunities in Bulgaria. President SCCI, while accepting the invitation, shared that the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry would soon, plan a Trade Delegation, with the collaboration of Embassy of Bulgaria to Pakistan.
