Amir Muqam Convenes Meeting to Nominate Gilgit-Baltistan Caretaker CM

Islamabad: Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam has convened a consultative meeting today to nominate the caretaker Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, a letter issued by the Federal Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan states that Chief Minister Gulbar Khan and Leader of the Opposition Muhammad Kazim Maisam will participate in the meeting through a Zoom link.

A single name for the caretaker Chief Minister will be agreed upon during the meeting. The term of the current government of Gilgit-Baltistan is ending on the 24th of this month, after which general elections will be held within the next 60 days.
