New Delhi: Ammunition was discovered on an Air India flight arriving in New Delhi from Dubai, following threats to blow up planes in India. The ammunition was found in the pockets of a seat on flight I916, prompting immediate action by the airline and authorities.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred on October 27 but has only recently come to light. An Air India spokesperson confirmed that after the discovery of ammunition and cartridges, all passengers were safely disembarked. A formal complaint was subsequently filed with the police.
Reports from Indian media indicate that while previous threats had been dismissed as rumors, the recovery of ammunition has raised concerns. The flight crew ensured the safety of all passengers by evacuating them before contacting law enforcement.
The police have launched an investigation into the discovery to determine how the ammunition came to be on the aircraft and to assess any potential security risks.
