Analyst Hails Trade Deal Between Pakistan and US

Islamabad: Amb. Waheed Ahmad, a former diplomat, has praised the recent trade deal between Pakistan and the United States, describing it as a development that alleviates concerns among Pakistani businessmen and exporters over potential US tariffs. The United States stands as Pakistan’s largest trade partner, with significant quantities of merchandise exported to the US. Conversely, Pakistan imports food items, machinery, and other goods from the United States. Ahmad emphasized the necessity of achieving a balanced trade relationship that benefits both nations.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ahmad highlighted the importance of this trade agreement in fostering employment and prosperity within Pakistan. He noted the potential advantage this deal provides for Pakistani exporters in accessing US markets. Ahmad urged exporters to capitalize on this opportunity by increasing exports to the United States, particularly in light of the current South Asian geopolitical context. He also pointed out the potential for Paki
stan to export IT services, promoting itself as a leading service provider to capture more business from US markets.

Ahmad further mentioned the geopolitical dynamics, stating that President Donald Trump recognizes Pakistan’s crucial role in international efforts against terrorism. The former diplomat asserted that terrorism can only be effectively countered through coordinated international collaboration, underscoring the importance of strong trade ties between the two countries.
