Analyst Highlights CPEC’s Role in Strengthening Pak-China Ties

Islamabad: Amb. Masood Khalid, a former diplomat, emphasized that the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and China has been further solidified by the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. Leadership from both nations is committed to advancing these ties, viewing it as a strategic decision for both countries. The friendship is enduring and is expected to grow stronger over time.

According to Radio Pakistan, CPEC is now entering its second phase, expanding cooperation into sectors such as agriculture, IT, education, health, energy, oil and gas, and mineral exploration. Pakistan is advised to concentrate on these areas for domestic growth, with China ready to collaborate. The first group of Pakistani trainees from the agricultural sector has completed their training in China, and it is anticipated that they will contribute to agricultural development upon their return. Additionally, there is hope for Chinese companies to invest in Pakistan’s mineral exploration sector, benefiting both countries.

The region continues to experience tension due to the strained relationship between Pakistan and India, primarily because of India’s reluctance to engage in dialogue to resolve outstanding issues. This attitude is identified as the main source of regional tension.
