Analyst Highlights Significance of PM Shehbaz’s Visit to Qatar

Islamabad: Dr. Zahid Anwar Khan, an expert in international relations, has underscored the importance of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Qatar, emphasizing the friendly ties and increasing cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar. He pointed out that Pakistan’s foreign policy prioritizes fostering strong relationships with all Muslim countries, particularly in the Arab World. The Prime Minister’s visit is seen as a significant step in bolstering these already robust bilateral relations.

According to Radio Pakistan, Qatar’s wealth in hydrocarbons and its role as a host for international delegations aiming to resolve conflicts make it a key ally for Pakistan. Dr. Khan noted the strategic importance of cooperation between Qatar and Turkiye in addressing the current situation in the Middle East, highlighting Turkiye’s military capabilities and Qatar’s financial resources. He emphasized Pakistan’s strong relations with both nations, which enhances its strategic position in the region.

Dr. Khan also expressed concerns over the plight of Palestinians, attributing their suffering to Israeli actions, and criticized Israel for violating international laws and human rights. He mentioned that Israeli statements regarding collaboration between Turkiye and Qatar reflect Israel’s hegemonic intentions in the region.
