Aneeq Ahmed urges Saudi govt to increase Hajj quota for Pakistani pilgrims

Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Aneeq Ahmed has urged Saudi government to increase Hajj quota for Pakistani pilgrims in view of growing population of the country.

Talking to APP, he highlighted the discrepancy between Pakistan’s population figures and the current Hajj quota.

The Minister said his Saudi counterpart Dr Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah has assured him to increase the Hajj quota after completion of necessary procedural formalities.

Referring to the success of ‘Road to Makkah’ project, he was of the view that the initiative needs to be extended to other airports across Pakistan.
