Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has expressed its approval of the nationwide observance of Palestine Unity Day by all political and religious parties in Pakistan. This gesture is seen as a significant step towards fostering political stability and enhancing unity and harmony across the country.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC-AJK convened a meeting chaired by Ghulam Muhammad Safi in Islamabad, where it extended congratulations to all political, religious, and social parties in Pakistan for their unanimous support of Palestine Solidarity Day. The conference highlighted this collective action as a positive development that could contribute to political stability, foster brotherhood, and promote unity at various levels throughout Pakistan.
The leadership of APHC-AJK also expressed optimism that the solidarity shown on Palestine issues could serve as a precedent for unity on other significant issues facing the Ummah, particularly the situation in Kashmir. The statement from the conference indicated that the Kashmir dispute is at a critical juncture, with concerns about the erosion of Muslim identity in the region due to demographic changes and religious transformations being enforced.
The Hurriyat leadership criticized the resettlement of non-state residents in Kashmir and the propagation of Hinduism in educational institutions, viewing these actions as threats to the property, life, religion, and faith of the Muslim community in the region. They called for united and organized efforts to resolve the Kashmir dispute in a manner that respects the dignity and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
