APHC Organizes Protests in IIOJK Over Blasphemous Remarks by Hindu Priest

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has announced plans for peaceful protests across Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) this Friday in response to offensive comments made by Hindu priest Yati Narsinghanand about the Prophet Mohammad (SAW).

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas has called for a significant turnout from the Kashmiri community and religious scholars to publicly denounce the blasphemous statements after Friday prayers. The announcement comes amid increasing concerns over remarks by Hindutva extremists.

The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has also expressed its backing for the protests, describing the priest’s comments as a severe affront to Muslims worldwide. DFP spokesman Advocate Arshad Iqbal highlighted the growing atmosphere of Islamophobia and xenophobia in India, stressing the necessity for unity in response to these provocative statements.

The upcoming protests are intended to send a clear message that such disrespectful acts will not be tolerated, with an emphasis on maintaining peace during the demonstrations to ensure that the community’s dissent is heard without violence.
