Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has voiced serious concerns regarding the declining health and welfare of Kashmiri political leaders and youths detained in Indian prisons, calling for their immediate and unconditional release.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC Spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas issued a forceful condemnation of India’s ongoing suppression of Kashmiri aspirations through detentions and militarization. Minhas highlighted the persistent Indian efforts to stifle Kashmiri demands for self-determination through harsh measures, which he claimed would not deter the spirit of the Kashmiri people.
The APHC is advocating for a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir dispute, yet notes that the intensified Indian military presence and the silencing of political voices have escalated tensions to near-breaking points. The organization has now turned to the international community, seeking intervention from the United Nations to facilitate the release of detainees and to press for global accountability for India’s actions in the region.
The call to action stresses the urgent need for international awareness and intervention against what the APHC describes as severe human rights violations by India in the occupied territory.
