Rawalpindi: First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari visited the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology and National Institute of Heart Diseases (AFIC-NIHD) in Rawalpindi today. During her visit, she was briefed by the Chinese Cardiology expert team about the advanced medical procedures for congenital heart diseases being performed for the first time in AFIC-NIHD with the Chinese support.
According to Radio Pakistan, the First Lady extended her sincere gratitude to the Chinese government for its cooperation in the health sector. She also commended the management of AFIC-NIHD for providing state-of-the-art treatment to heart patients. Aseefa Bhutto Zardari visited various wards, interacted with patients, and presented them with flowers.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong stated that China will further enhance collaboration with Pakistan in the health sector. He mentioned that such advanced medical services will also be extended to other parts of the country, including the province of Balochistan.
During the visit, the Commandant of AFIC-NIHD presented the First Lady with a commemorative shield.
