At UNESCO, Mumtaz Zahra Calls for Reviving Silk Road Spirit

Paris: Pakistan’s Ambassador to France, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, participated in a seminar on the ‘Traditions of the Silk Road and Intercultural Dialogue’, held at UNESCO to mark the International Day of Dialogue among Civilizations. Speaking on the occasion, she outlined the history of the Gandhara Civilization and the pivotal position of Taxila at the crossroads of the Silk Road.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Ambassador highlighted the importance of reviving the spirit of the Silk Road and promoting dialogue, respect for cultural diversity, mutual understanding, and peaceful cooperation. She underlined UNESCO’s critical role in promoting dialogue, constructive engagement, and multilateralism.

The event was part of daylong celebrations marking the International Day of Dialogue among Civilizations, during which Pakistani cuisine was showcased as a reflection of the cultural diversity of the Silk Road region.
