Karachi: Atlas Honda Ltd (ATLH) has announced record quarterly earnings, driven by a significant increase in two-wheeler sales. In a recent analyst briefing, the company reported an earnings per share (EPS) of Rs38.74 for the first quarter of fiscal year 2025, marking its highest-ever quarterly earnings with a 38% year-on-year increase. This surge was primarily fueled by a 30% year-on-year growth in two-wheeler sales.
During the briefing, the management revealed plans to launch their first electric bike, initially as a completely built-up (CBU) unit. This strategic move comes as the domestic electric vehicle (EV) market remains in its nascent stage, with approximately 50,000 units. Atlas Honda intends to begin local assembly of the electric bike once market volumes increase, aligning with the government’s initiative to encourage EV adoption.
The company also expressed optimism about the continuation of the upward trend in sales volumes observed in recent quarters. Projections for the fiscal year 2026 suggest that annual sales may exceed the previous record of 135,000 units achieved in fiscal year 2022.
In addition to the electric bike, Atlas Honda plans to introduce two new models with higher engine capacities. This decision reflects a noticeable shift in consumer preferences toward motorcycles with more powerful engines.
Atlas Honda’s continued focus on innovation and adaptation to market trends underscores its commitment to maintaining leadership in the motorcycle industry.
