Attaullah, Ahsan Discuss Revamping Project of PTV

Islamabad: Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar held a meeting today. They discussed in detail the proposed project for the revamping and modernization of PTV under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

According to Radio Pakistan, the Information Minister emphasized the need for support from the Ministry of Planning for the successful implementation of the PTV revamping project. He highlighted that establishing local broadcasting infrastructure in Gilgit-Baltistan is essential for the live coverage of international sporting events. Currently, Outside Broadcasting (OB) vans have to be transported from Islamabad for such coverage.

Attaullah Tarar stressed that upgrading PTV’s Master Control Rooms (MCRs) in line with modern requirements is a pressing need. Ahsan Iqbal acknowledged PTV as a national asset and assured that efforts would be made to equip it with modern facilities. He remarked on PTV’s significant role in promoting Pakistan’s national identity and unity.
