Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has emphasized the need for greater cooperation between Pakistan and Turkiye at all levels, including fostering people-to-people contacts.
According to Radio Pakistan, during the inauguration of the newly-constructed Pakistan-Turkiye Friendship Museum at Radio Pakistan Headquarters in Islamabad, Attaullah Tarar highlighted the historical roots of the Pakistan-Turkiye friendship. He noted that this bond transcends borders and boundaries, reflecting a heart-to-heart connection between the peoples of both nations.
The Information Minister remarked that Turkiye is one of the few countries where Pakistanis feel warmth and affection during their visits. He stressed the importance of the two countries moving forward together towards a prosperous future.
Attaullah Tarar mentioned Turkiye’s involvement in development projects in Pakistan and its focus on preserving history through the Pakistan-Turkiye Friendship Museum. This initiative aims to showcase the role played by Radio Pakistan in various fields for future generations.
The Information Minister praised Radio Pakistan’s contributions to nation-building, boosting morale during wars, promoting arts and culture, and supporting the economy and agriculture. He acknowledged its effectiveness as a communication mode during natural calamities.
Expressing satisfaction with the launch of a podcast by Radio Pakistan, the Information Minister urged the management to propose further modernization of the national broadcaster. He emphasized the need for Radio Pakistan to establish a strong presence in the digital space, highlighting the importance of attracting subscribers as in the past.
In his remarks, Turkish Ambassador Dr. Irfan Neziroglu highlighted the strong relationship between Pakistan and Turkiye, emphasizing their continued collaboration in various fields.
