Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has called for enhanced collaboration between Pakistan and Turkiye across various sectors, underscoring the importance of strengthening people-to-people connections. Tarar’s remarks were made during the inauguration of the newly established Pakistan-Turkiye Friendship Museum at the Radio Pakistan Headquarters in Islamabad.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Tarar described the friendship between Pakistan and Turkiye as historically significant, emphasizing its deep-rooted nature. He remarked that the bond between the two nations transcends geographical boundaries, reflecting an intrinsic connection between their peoples.
The Information Minister highlighted that Turkiye is among the few countries where Pakistanis receive a warm welcome, stressing the need for both nations to advance together towards a promising future. He noted Turkiye’s involvement in development projects within Pakistan and emphasized the significance of the new museum in preserving history, particularly showcasing Radio Pakistan’s contributions in various domains for future generations.
Tarar lauded Radio Pakistan for its role in nation-building, supporting the armed forces during conflicts, and promoting arts, culture, and economic development. He acknowledged the broadcaster’s crucial role in communication during natural disasters.
Expressing approval of Radio Pakistan’s new podcast initiative, Tarar urged the management to propose further modernization strategies for the national broadcaster. He stressed the importance of Radio Pakistan’s digital presence and the need to attract more subscribers, reflecting on the once-regular listenership of the past. He stated that the welfare of Radio Pakistan is a shared responsibility.
Turkish Ambassador Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, present at the event, reinforced the robust relationship between Pakistan and Turkiye, asserting that the two countries would continue to collaborate across different fields.
