Aurangzeb Advocates Strategic Planning to Address Population Growth Challenges

Islamabad: A delegation of Population Council led by President Dr. Rana Hajjeh called on Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad today. During the meeting, the Finance Minister underscored the significant challenges posed by rapid population growth, particularly in relation to the country’s development goals.

According to Radio Pakistan, Aurangzeb emphasized the necessity for a sustained, long-term, and evidence-based approach to understanding and addressing population dynamics. He stressed the importance of integrating these dynamics into planning across vital sectors such as health, education, employment, urbanization, and the environment. This integration, he noted, is essential for unlocking the full potential for socio-economic development.

The delegation from the Population Council reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Pakistan’s efforts in crafting comprehensive, data-driven policies. These policies aim to ensure that the country’s demographic transition aligns with sustainable development objectives.
