Aurangzeb Stresses Urgent Action on Climate Change and Population Growth

Islamabad: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has emphasized the need for tackling the pressing challenges of climate change and population growth in order to unlock the country’s true potential. Speaking at the Pakistan Population Summit in Islamabad, he also called for reallocating resources to the sectors where they are most urgently needed.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Finance Minister highlighted the importance of consensus in the upcoming discussions on the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award. He noted that progress would be achieved through agreement among stakeholders. Furthermore, he revealed that under the country partnership program, the Asian Development Bank will provide two billion dollars annually for the next ten years. He pointed out that four out of six agenda items in the partnership program focus on the critical issues of climate change and population.

The Finance Minister stressed the responsibility to develop and implement projects and initiatives to address these challenges. Additionally, he announced that Pakistan would launch its first Skills Impact Bond in the coming days, aimed at enhancing the skills of the youth.
