Muzaffarabad: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) is celebrating its seventy-seventh Founding Day today, commemorating its liberation from the Dogra regime in 1947 with a series of ceremonies and a public commitment to the ongoing struggle for the broader region’s freedom.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the celebrations in AJK included a 21-gun salute in the state capital, Muzaffarabad, and flag hoisting ceremonies across all district and divisional headquarters. The day, which is a public holiday throughout AJK, began with special prayers in mosques for the integrity and prosperity of Pakistan and for the swift liberation of the territory still under Indian control.

The Founding Day festivities reflect a deep-seated resolve among the people and leaders of AJK to continue advocating for the inclusion of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir into Pakistan, emphasizing the historical and ongoing challenges faced by the region.
