Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Urges UK-Based Kashmiris to Highlight Human Rights Violations

Islamabad: President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, has called on Kashmiris residing in the United Kingdom to illuminate the ongoing human rights violations in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized the critical role they play in international advocacy, particularly given the UK’s status as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.

According to President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, Indian forces are committing severe human rights violations in the region. These include the killing of civilians, use of pellet guns against elders and children, and the violation of women’s dignity. Chaudhry described these actions as violations of international human rights laws and UN resolutions. He urged the international community to address these issues and increase pressure on India to cease such activities.

During a meeting with former Mayor of Waltham Stow, Shaukat Ali, at the President’s House in Kashmir House Islamabad, Chaudhry reiterated the need for the global Kashmiri diaspora to advocate for the oppressed in Kashmir. The gathering was also attended by Councilor Liaquat Ali, Counselor Barrister Usman Ali, and others. Chaudhry also expressed solidarity with Palestinians, drawing parallels between the situations in Palestine and Kashmir, and called for international intervention.

Shaukat Ali assured Chaudhry of his dedication to use his platform in the British Parliament to highlight and combat the ongoing atrocities in Occupied Kashmir. He pledged to continue efforts to resolve the Kashmir issue through diplomatic channels.
