Azad Kashmir Government Commits to Enhanced Healthcare in Remote Areas

Muzaffarabad: In a concerted effort to improve healthcare services across Azad Kashmir, Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar Haq presided over a critical meeting of the Public Health Department at Jammu and Kashmir House. The session focused on bolstering healthcare facilities in the region’s most underserved areas, emphasizing the activation of essential rural health centers.

According to Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the meeting saw participation from key cabinet members including the Senior Minister Colonel (Retd.) Waqar Ahmed Noor, Minister of Public Health Nisar Ansar Abdali, and other officials. Prime Minister Haq highlighted the government’s dedication to ensuring that remote and rural communities have access to necessary medical services.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of fully operationalizing Tehsil Headquarters Hospitals (THQs), Basic Health Units (BHUs), and Rural Health Centers (RHCs), and prioritizing the deployment of medical staff to these facilities to enhance accessibility for all citizens. He also mandated strict oversight to ensure the attendance of doctors and healthcare workers, directing district health officers to enforce accountability measures against absenteeism.
