Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Stresses Accountability and Efficiency in Development Projects

Muzaffarabad: At a critical review meeting held at the PWD Rest House in Banjosa, Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar Haq of the Azad Government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir emphasized stringent accountability and efficient use of funds in development projects. The meeting, attended by top cabinet members and department heads, focused on ensuring that public welfare funds are transparently and effectively utilized.

According to Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Haq issued a clear directive to department officers regarding the vigilant oversight of projects funded by the government, particularly emphasizing the importance of tangible results that benefit the public. He highlighted the responsibility of officers to manage their teams effectively and warned of consequences for negligence impacting the government’s reputation.

During the departmental briefings, specific projects such as the Tolipeer Road were discussed, with the Prime Minister labeling it a “game-changer” and urging the quick completion of remaining work. Additionally, he addressed concerns in the electricity sector, demanding an end to electricity theft and improvements in bill recovery rates.

Senior Minister Colonel (Retd.) Waqar Noor underscored advancements in education, noting staff augmentations in educational institutions and advocating for rigorous monitoring to ensure uninterrupted quality education. He also introduced plans for a new social media app to enhance the oversight of departmental staff and officers.

The meeting reflects the Azad Kashmir government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and public services while upholding accountability and efficiency across its departments.
