ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that Azerbaijan has expressed its readiness to sign agreements with Pakistan valued at two billion dollars. This revelation was made during a federal cabinet meeting held in Islamabad.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister shared that the President of Azerbaijan conveyed this proposal through a message. In addition, Sharif highlighted the departure of a Pakistani delegation to Saudi Arabia. He mentioned that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman recently extended his best wishes for Pakistan’s progress and development during a meeting and expressed a desire to enhance bilateral relations swiftly.
Sharif also noted a significant demand for IT professionals in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. He mentioned that he plans to receive a presentation from the Ministry of Information Technology to understand their strategy for preparing a skilled IT workforce to meet this demand in both nations.
The Prime Minister described the State Bank of Pakistan’s recent policy rate reduction as a crucial development for sectors such as business, industry, agriculture, and exports. He expressed confidence that this change would encourage investment, create job opportunities, and enhance exports, while also reducing debt burden and providing fiscal space.
Furthermore, Sharif emphasized the importance of encouraging the business community to contribute to strengthening the economy.
