Azerbaijan Reaffirms Support for Kashmir in Meeting with Pakistani Official

Islamabad: In a significant meeting that highlighted the strong ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, engaged in comprehensive discussions with Khazar Farhadov, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan. The meeting focused on mutual interests, including the Kashmir issue and regional stability.

According to a statement by National Assembly of Pakistan, Chairman Noon expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s unwavering support for Pakistan, especially regarding the Kashmir dispute. He noted the shared values of sovereignty and human rights that underpin the relationship between the two countries and praised Azerbaijan’s principled stance on international norms.

The Azerbaijani Ambassador reiterated the country’s support for a peaceful resolution to the Jammu and Kashmir issue, in line with international law and United Nations resolutions. He emphasized the importance of resolving the Kashmir dispute to promote peace and security in South Asia.

The dialogue also explored ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, with a focus on parliamentary diplomacy, economic partnerships, and cultural exchanges. Regional cooperation through multilateral platforms like the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Economic Cooperation Organization was highlighted as essential for tackling security threats and extremism. The Chairman and the Ambassador committed to closer collaboration at international forums to advocate for marginalized communities and promote global peace and security.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to deepen diplomatic, economic, and cultural relations, as well as a call for further high-level engagements to strengthen this partnership.
