Balochistan Assembly Seeks Greater Representation in Provincial, National Assemblies

Quetta: The Balochistan Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution calling for an increase in the representation in provincial and national assemblies. The session was held in Quetta with Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai in the chair.

According to Radio Pakistan, the resolution was presented by Member of the Provincial Assembly Asghar Ali Tareen. It calls for increasing the number of seats in the Balochistan Assembly from sixty-five to eighty-five and raising the province’s representation in the National Assembly from twenty to twenty-eight. Opposition members also supported the resolution.
