Balochistan Government Advances Health Sector Reforms and Infrastructure

Quetta: On October 2, Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar outlined the Balochistan government’s commitment to enhancing the region’s health sector. Following directives from Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the province is implementing a series of reforms aimed at ensuring quality and timely healthcare services reach all areas.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Minister Kakar emphasized the government’s focus on upgrading health facilities and infrastructure across the province during a briefing on the new trauma center currently under construction. The briefing, led by Trauma Center MD Arbab Kamran, covered the progress of the construction, staffing needs, and the acquisition of modern medical equipment.

The health minister highlighted the significance of modernizing medical facilities to provide enhanced treatment options, particularly in emergency situations. “Important centers like trauma centers are being equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to offer quick and effective treatment during emergencies,” Kakar noted.

In addition to the trauma center, the Provincial Health Minister also visited the Balochistan Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (BICVD) to inspect ongoing work. He directed that the projects adhere to international standards and be completed promptly to meet the urgent health needs of the province’s population.

Kakar also praised the dedication and hard work of doctors and medical staff whose efforts are crucial to the sector’s improvement. He reiterated the government’s priority to develop health infrastructure and improve access to medical services in remote areas, ensuring that residents can receive the best possible care close to home.

The establishment of these facilities is expected to significantly bolster the health sector in Balochistan, providing a critical boost to the quality of life for its citizens. The minister issued strict instructions to ensure the timely completion of these vital projects, underscoring the administration’s commitment to health sector reforms.
