Balochistan Government Engages in Agriculture Conference 2024 in Karachi

Quetta: The Balochistan Government’s Department of Agriculture, led by Special Secretary Zarat Jahangir Kakar, participated actively in the Agriculture Conference 2024 held in Karachi. The two-day event, organized by Pakistan Media Development Foundation, Ripple Concept, and Exhibitor TV, received support from the Green Pakistan Initiative.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the conference featured a stall by the Balochistan Department’s research, water management, and extension wings in collaboration with WWF, which garnered positive attention from attendees. Panel discussions covered topics such as sustainable agriculture, organic agriculture, and water management. Officials from the Balochistan Department shared insights into the agricultural situation in Balochistan. Special Secretary Zarat Jahangir Kakar attended the conference with Digi Research Wing Abdul Rauf Khan Kakar, Digi Water Management Mehboob Ali, Director GPI Balochistan Irfan Bakhtiari, and Syed Rehan Farid, Deputy Director Extension Wing Lasbela.

The conference occurred at a pivotal moment as agriculture has been identified as a top priority sector by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), with the Green Corporate Initiative aiming to enhance agricultural productivity through innovations.
