Balochistan to Extend Midwifery Services to Grassroots Level

Islamabad: The Balochistan Government has decided to expand Community Midwife services to the grassroots level across the province. This initiative is set to deliver essential health services directly to people’s doorsteps, especially targeting remote and underserved areas.

According to Radio Pakistan, this expansion seeks to improve access to maternal and child health services by deploying trained midwives in various regions. The goal is to ensure that even the most isolated communities receive adequate healthcare support, thereby addressing the challenges of accessibility and availability of health services in Balochistan.

The government’s focus on enhancing midwifery services at the community level is part of a broader strategy to improve overall health outcomes in the province. This move is expected to contribute significantly to reducing maternal and infant mortality rates by providing timely and skilled care.
