Balochistan to Integrate Climate Change Education into Curriculum, Says Provincial Advisor

Quetta: Naseem-ur-Rehman Khan Mullakhel, Provincial Advisor on Environment and Climate Change, has emphasized the urgency of addressing climate change through education and long-term planning. The advisor announced that climate change topics will be included in the educational curriculum of Balochistan to enhance students’ understanding of this critical issue.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Mullakhel highlighted the severe impact of rising temperatures on the region, which manifest as untimely rains, floods, and droughts, disrupting life and the ecosystem. He stressed the need for robust measures to mitigate these effects, including the implementation of the Environmental Protection Act 2012, to reduce pollution and its harmful consequences. The advisor also called for active community involvement and the integration of environmentally friendly practices in the province’s development strategies to align with modern climate requirements.
