Ban on Government Employees in Election Activities Reaffirmed in Sibi Meeting

Sibi: In a high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Sibi, Jahanzeb Sheikh, various issues related to the upcoming by-elections in Sibi district were thoroughly reviewed. A significant focus was placed on reinforcing the ban on government officers and employees from participating in election activities. This directive aims to ensure impartiality and fairness in the electoral process.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the Election Commission has imposed a stringent prohibition on the involvement of government employees and officers in political activities. Deputy Commissioner Jahanzeb Sheikh emphasized that any public servant found engaging in political activity would face immediate disciplinary action. District Monitoring Officer Sibi, Ali Asghar Magsi, also stated that swift action would be taken against any government employee assisting in the election campaign of any political party or candidate.

The meeting further addressed concerns over certain employees who have been assigned duties for the by-elections but are reluctant to fulfill their responsibilities. It was unequivocally stated that such employees would not be exempted from their duties under any circumstances.
