Bangladesh plans to relocate Rohingya refugees to Remote Island

Bangladesh has initiated a controversial plan to relocate tens of thousands of Rohingya refugees of Myanmar to a remote island.

According to an official web site, the government has set up a committee ordering authorities to relocate undocumented Myanmar nationals to Thengar Char in the Bay of Bengal.

Some three hundred thousand Rohingya Muslims are living in squalid conditions in refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar district.
