Bangladesh’s Top Military Officer Visits Karachi for Defense Talks

Karachi: The Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division of Bangladesh, Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hassan, visited Karachi to meet with senior officials of the Pakistan Navy. His itinerary included discussions aimed at enhancing regional maritime security and strengthening bilateral defense collaboration.

According to a statement by Pakistan Navy, Lieutenant General Hassan held meetings with prominent figures including Commander Pakistan Fleet, Rear Admiral Abdul Munib; Commander Coast, Rear Admiral Faisal Amin; and Managing Director of Karachi Shipyard Engineering Works, Rear Admiral Salman Ilyas. During his visit, he also inspected various Pakistan Navy ships and units.

The discussions centered around professional matters of mutual concern, with an emphasis on regional maritime security and the potential for increased bilateral defense cooperation. Several areas for potential collaboration were identified, such as joint military exercises, reciprocal visits, and training exchange programs between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Lieutenant General Hassan’s visit is anticipated to further strengthen the defense ties between the two nations, enhancing cooperation and fortifying the relationship between their armed forces.
