Biden expected to expand U.S.-India relationship while stressing rights

Islamabad, December 29, 2020 (PPI-OT): American foreign policy experts say US President-elect Joseph Biden is expected to stress human rights with India, while expanding Washington-Delhi ties. According to “the New York Times” citing experts, Biden’s campaign documents specifically called on Indian government to take all necessary steps to restore rights for all people in the Indian illegally occupied Kashmir.

Disappointment was also expressed in Biden’s campaign document over Modi’s citizenship law. The report said some activists in the United States want the Biden administration to warn Indian officials that discontent over some of its current policies could imperil partnership between the two countries.
