Biological, Toxin Weapons Convention Implementation Bill Introduced in Senate

Islamabad: The Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention Implementation Bill, 2025, was introduced in the Senate. The chair has referred the bill to the Standing Committee concerned for further deliberation. In contrast, the Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) (Amendment) Bill, 2024, was withdrawn from the Senate.

According to Radio Pakistan, four reports from the Standing Committees on different bills were presented in the House. In response to a Calling Attention Notice, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Azam Nazeer Tarar stated that efforts are underway to rationalize electricity prices to make energy more affordable for consumers. He clarified that there is no intention to shut down captive industrial units and emphasized that the government is working on addressing capacity payment issues to lower electricity costs.

The House has been adjourned and will reconvene tomorrow at half past ten in the morning.
