BJP Criticized for Communal Ad Campaign in Jharkhand by Mehbooba Mufti

Srinagar: The Peoples Democratic Party President, Mehbooba Mufti, has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for an advertisement released in Jharkhand, India, just before the elections, which she described as deplorably communal and against India’s secular principles.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the advertisement was initially posted on the X handle of BJP’s Jharkhand unit. However, it was subsequently removed following the Election Commission’s directive to the state poll chief to instruct the party to take down the post. Mehbooba Mufti remarked that the advertisement contradicted the foundational ideals of the nation, calling it “pure poison.”

The second phase of polling in Jharkhand is set to take place on Wednesday.
