BJP’s Policies Criticized for Economic Impact in IIOJK: Farooq Abdullah

Jammu: Dr. Farooq Abdullah, president of the National Conference, has underscored the significant hardships faced by the residents of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) over the last decade. He emphasized that the decisions made on August 5, 2019, have adversely affected not only those in the Valley but also the inhabitants of Jammu.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Farooq Abdullah, while addressing public delegations in Jammu, criticized the BJP for its role in leading IIOJK into economic and financial turmoil. He accused the party of engaging in divisive politics based on religion, particularly in the run-up to elections, and misleading many in Jammu.

The NC president stated that addressing the immediate issues faced by the public should be the top priority for the newly elected government in the territory. He highlighted the necessity to counteract efforts that have exacerbated divisions between the Valley and Jammu. To promote unity, Abdullah called for initiatives such as the restoration of the Darbar Move, which would encourage greater interaction and cooperation between the regions of the occupied territory.

Farooq Abdullah further remarked on the challenges that have significantly impacted Jammu in recent years, including soaring inflation, economic decline, and high unemployment rates. He pointed out the struggles of the youth, who are trapped in a cycle of despair, dealing with mental health issues and the threat of substance abuse.
