Srinagar: Authorities have located the body of Hilal Ahmad Bhat, an Indian army man who had been reported missing earlier this week in the Islamabad district of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Bhat disappeared during a cordon operation on Tuesday evening in the Kokernag area of the district. His absence prompted a substantial search effort by local forces.

A senior police official confirmed to the media on Wednesday morning that after an extensive overnight search, Bhat’s body was successfully recovered. The circumstances surrounding Bhat’s disappearance and the location of his body are under investigation by the military and local police.
