Bomb Threats Prompt Emergency Actions on Flights and Train in Mumbai

Mumbai: Three flights and one train departing from Mumbai were targeted by bomb threats today, leading to significant security interventions and disruptions.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) held an urgent meeting to strategize on the necessary security responses following the threats. The affected transport services included an Air India flight bound for New York, which was redirected to New Delhi. The aircraft, Flight AI-119 with 239 passengers aboard, made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport, where extensive searches were conducted but revealed no explosives. The flight is scheduled to continue to New York tomorrow morning.

Additionally, two flights operated by IndiGo were disrupted by similar threats. Flight 6E 1275 en route to Muscat was grounded and relocated to a remote bay for thorough checks. Following this, another IndiGo flight, 6E 56 from Mumbai to Jeddah, was also diverted to an isolated area for security inspection.
