Bomb Threats Target Educational Institutions in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: In a disturbing series of events, bomb threats were issued to two colleges and seven schools in Tiruchirappalli district of Tamil Nadu. The threats, which were sent via email, have caused significant concern among students, parents, and faculty.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the affected institutions include St. Joseph’s College, Holy Cross College, Campan Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Samdha Higher Secondary School, Montfort School, Acharya Shiksha Mandara School, Rajam Krishnamurthy Public School, and Amrita Vidyalayam School. The threats were received early Thursday morning, warning of potential bomb blasts.

Upon receiving the threats, local police teams and bomb disposal squads were promptly dispatched to the institutions. After thorough searches, no explosives were found at any of the locations. Police currently suspect that the threats may have been a hoax.

The cyber crime wing of the police has actively pursued the case, identifying the alleged sender of the emails as Swetha Balakrishnan. Investigations are ongoing to address and mitigate the situation.
