Islamabad: Boosting regional productivity through digital innovation was the focus as the capital of Pakistan hosted an international workshop on September 10, 2024. The event, inaugurated by Mr. Muhammad Asad Islam Mahni, Additional Secretary of the Industries and Production Division, is a collaborative effort between the National Productivity Organization (NPO) of Pakistan and the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) of Japan. The four-day workshop titled ‘Strategic Marketing for Digital Transformation’ aims to empower marketing professionals with effective digital strategies to enhance business growth.
According to Ministry of Industries and Production announcement issued on 10 September 2024, Mr. Mahni praised the efforts of the APO in his opening remarks, noting its pivotal role in driving productivity growth in the Asia-Pacific region. He stressed the importance of renewing commitment to APO’s vision of inclusive and innovation-led productivity enhancements. The workshop features 18 international participants from APO member countries including Mongolia, Nepal, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Turkey, along with 10 local participants from Pakistan.
The Additional Secretary welcomed the international delegates and underscored the significance of the collaboration between the APO and NPO in tackling the challenges posed by digital transformation in marketing. Mr. Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhry, CEO of NPO, expressed gratitude towards the Additional Secretary and the APO Program Officer. He highlighted ongoing initiatives such as the National Productivity Master Plan and the Productivity Measurement System in Pakistan, aimed at boosting productivity and implementing productivity-linked wages to improve work outcomes.
Experts from Malaysia and Pakistan will lead discussions on the latest trends in strategic digital marketing, focusing on data-driven decision-making and customer-centric strategies. Mr. Dong Jin Lee, APO Program Officer from Tokyo, emphasized the workshop’s role as a platform for knowledge exchange and professional networking to bolster productivity and competitiveness in the region. Participants have shown great enthusiasm, looking forward to gaining actionable insights that can be applied within their organizations.
