Budgam Observes Shutdown in Honor of Ebrahim Raisi

Srinagar, The Magam area of Budgam district in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir observed a shutdown to mourn the loss of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash.

According to Kashmir Media Service, President Raisi was recognized as a supporter of the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. The community showed their respect by closing shops and reducing traffic, aligning with the five days of mourning declared in Iran. Concurrently, a large rally organized by local youth was reported, underlining the strong bonds of solidarity with the Iranian people.

This communal grief was further highlighted by gatherings in Srinagar at the Ghanta Ghar and other significant areas where residents held candles and placards, expressing their sorrow over the incident. The helicopter crash, occurring near the Azerbaijan border, has prompted significant international reactions, with figures like Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed praising Raisi’s support for Kashmir and Palestine.
