Cabinet Approves Major Spectrum Auction: Shaza

Islamabad: Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja has announced that the federal cabinet has approved a major spectrum auction. Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, she stated that around 600 megahertz of additional spectrum will be made available to telecom operators under this auction. The auction is expected to take place within the next few weeks.

According to Radio Pakistan, the auction will include seven spectrum bands, with five of these being offered in Pakistan for the first time. The federal minister emphasized that this move will enhance 3G and 4G internet speeds within the next three to four months.
