Cabinet Committee Approves Independent Directors for State Enterprises

Islamabad: The Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises has approved the appointment of independent directors for several state-owned enterprises. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Committee sanctioned five independent directors for the Printing Corporation of Pakistan, six for the Fisheries Development Board, and nine for the Pakistan Cotton Standards Institute. Additionally, two independent directors were appointed to both the Livestock and Dairy Development Board and the Overseas Pakistanis’ Foundation.

The Committee also approved the reconstitution of Boards of Directors for four railways state-owned enterprises, including Pakistan Railways Advisory and Consultancy Services, Pakistan Railways Freight Transportation Company, Railways Estate Development and Marketing Company, and Railways Construction Pakistan Limited.
