Cabinet Committee Approves Reconstitution of PRAL’s Board of Directors

Islamabad: The Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises (CCoSOEs), chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, approved the reconstitution of the Board of Directors of Pakistan Revenue Automation (PVT.) Ltd. (PRAL) during a virtual meeting held at the Finance Division. The new board structure will include a majority of independent directors in line with the State Owned Enterprises Act 2023.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting was attended by senior officials, including Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Shaikh and Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Rashid Mahmood Langrial, among others. The Board Nominations Committee recommended five independent directors from the private sector, alongside four ex-officio members, based on their management experience and professional expertise. Senator Aurangzeb praised the selection process and expressed confidence that the new board would provide strong oversight and contribute to the achievement of Pakistan’s revenue goals.
