Lahore, February 17, 2016 (PPI-OT):Provincial Minister for Education and Sports, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that campuses of the best universities of the world as well as offices of renowned business companies will be set up at Lahore Knowledge Park. He said that in addition to educational institutions, residential facilities will also be available to boy and girl students while commercial area is also included in the project.
He was presiding over a review meeting regarding setting up of Lahore Knowledge Park, here today. Secretary Higher Education Department Irfan Ali, CEO Lahore Knowledge Park Shahid Zaman besides all members of the board of directors of the institution were present on the occasion. The Minister said that Lahore knowledge Park will be a milestone in the development and prosperity of the country.
He said that land has also been allocated for Information Technology University Lahore in Lahore Knowledge Park. He said that during the recent visit to Britain under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab, substantial progress was made with regard to establishment of the campuses of prominent British universities in Lahore Knowledge Park.
Rana Mashhood further said that Lahore Knowledge Park will reflect the educational vision of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. He said that the state of the art Lahore Knowledge Park will have a population of 40,000 and applied sciences based on knowledge economy will be promoted in schools, colleges and universities to be set up in the park. Rana Mashhood said that promotion of education is essential for progress and prosperity and its best example is Japan where after massive destruction in World War II, Japanese laid a strong foundation for industrial development through knowledge parks.
