CCP Grants Conditional Exemption for Aramco and GO Petroleum Supply Agreement

Islamabad, The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) has approved a conditional exemption for a product supply agreement between Aramco Trading Fujairah FZE Ltd and Gas and Oil Pakistan Ltd (GO Petroleum), focusing on the import and sale of gasoline and diesel in Pakistan.

According to Competition Commission of Pakistan, the agreement allows ATC Fujairah to fulfill GO Petroleum’s demands for gasoline and diesel, essential for their retail outlets. This arrangement aims to achieve economies of scale that could lead to more competitive pricing for consumers. The CCP reviewed the proposal to ensure it aligns with economic benefits and does not hinder market competition.

Conditions set by the CCP include prohibiting anti-competitive practices and mandating compliance with regulatory standards for product specifications and storage facilities. The exemption, granted until June 2026, emphasizes the need for ongoing evaluation to ensure that the collaboration enhances the distribution network and benefits the overall market competitiveness.
