Chairman NDMA Engages with Green Climate Fund at COP 29.

Baku: Chairman Pak NDMA Lt General Inam Haider Malik met with Mr. Henry Gonzalez, Chief Investment Officer of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), at the GCF Pavilion during COP 29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The meeting focused on creating a framework and strategies for GCF accreditation to mitigate and adapt to climate-induced disasters. Chairman Malik emphasized the importance of developing early warning systems and anticipatory actions at the National Emergencies Operations Center.

According to Press Information Department, both parties agreed to organize a bilateral workshop in Islamabad. The workshop aims to further develop a comprehensive framework for a disaster-resilient Pakistan, highlighting the collaborative efforts between NDMA and GCF to address climate change challenges effectively.
