Chairman PTA Holds Bilateral Meeting with GSMA at IGF 2025, Norway

Karachi: Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman, HI (M), held a bilateral meeting with the leadership of the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) on the sidelines of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2025 in Lillestr¸m, Norway.

According to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, the meeting focused on strengthening collaboration in key areas including mobile broadband penetration, spectrum policy, digital inclusion, and innovation in the telecom sector. Chairman PTA emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to expanding digital connectivity, enhancing regulatory frameworks, and promoting an enabling environment for investment and emerging technologies.

GSMA acknowledged PTA’s proactive regulatory approach and reiterated support for Pakistan’s digital transformation goals.

This engagement reflects PTA’s ongoing efforts to foster global partnerships, align with international best practices, and reinforce its role as a forward-looking telecom regulator committed to a digitally inclusive and connected Pakistan.
